The X-Series earmuffs, 3M's latest advancement in hearing conservation, feature a combination of new technologies in comfort, design, and protection. The X1A, a lightweight and low-profile earmuff, is designed to protect against low-level industrial noise and other loud sounds.

NOISE REDUCTION RATING (NRR) OF 22 dB: The over-the-head hearing protection provides an NRR of 22 dB, suitable for low to moderate noise exposures.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES: New innovative foam earcup inserts and spacers, as well as new ear cushion foam technology, help improve attenuation and provide an effective acoustic seal for reliable protection.

COMFORTABLE: Wide, soft foam ear cushions and earcup tilting pivot points are designed for high comfort and an effective acoustic seal with the head.

EXTENDED COMFORT: The internal stainless steel wire in the headband helps maintain consistent force over an 8-hour period for extended comfort, while the twin headband design helps reduce heat buildup.

It's important to note that the NRR may overestimate the hearing protection provided during typical use, and 3M recommends reducing the NRR by 50% for estimating the amount of noise reduction provided.

The X-Series (over-the-head) headband version is electrically insulated, sometimes referred to as "dielectric". The metal components of the headband have been covered by non-conductive material for use in a low voltage electrical hazard (less than 440 V ac). As there are no applicable standards for testing ear muffs against electrical insulating properties, the product has been evaluated at an external laboratory against a modified test method based on EN397:1995. During assessment, the leakage current did not exceed 1.2mA when the external surface of the product made contact with an electrical source.

The user must determine the overall suitability of this product for the intended application, taking into account any hazards other than noise for which this product is tested.
